It was 1993 when Porsche presented the new 911, internally referred to as 993, at the IAA Frankfurt Motor Show. For the first time, major changes have been made to the bodywork, with the headlights being flatter and more integrated into the design. The rear also becomes rounder and smoother. What the world doesn't know yet is that this series will go down as the last air-cooled 911. This makes it not only one of the most beautiful 911s but also the final chapter of an icon.
The 993 is a significant step forward in every respect compared to the 964. Visually more modern and with a new alloy subframe and new rear suspension, sportier and at the same time safer steering than ever. The interior only receives marginal innovations, fortunately. The characteristic five large meters are therefore retained in the classic way. The engine is an evolution of the 3.6 that was already found in the predecessor. Initially, the 911 Carrera had 272 hp and later even 285 hp thanks to VarioRam.
Just like its predecessor, you can choose between a manual variant or the now well-known Tiptronic transmission. An automatic that can also be operated manually with touch buttons (or the gear lever). Once behind the wheel, you can enjoy it to the fullest. Not only is the design beautiful, but the condition also deserves the same term.
Naturally, the Tiptronic responds quickly to the driver's instructions and the 3.6-liter six-cylinder boxer feels alert. With the big load of power, the ass of the 993 pushes down when pressing the accelerator, to see the nose go like a rocket towards the horizon. The technology is in very good condition, and the chassis and brakes feel perfectly healthy.
The bodywork is in good condition. The fits are correct and the sheet metal is nice and thin. The paint is in very nice condition and has a beautiful shine. The interior is equally beautifully cared for. The leather is in very good condition and is wonderfully supple. The dashboard is also beautifully cared for and is in very good and original condition. The car is also equipped with air conditioning, a Becker radio with navigation, and electric seats. This Porsche 993 comes with a complete on-board folder. In short, a beautiful original Dutch-delivered Porsche 993 Carrera 2S in a very attractive colour scheme. In terms of technology, this Porsche is completely in order and we have the complete Boardmap available for inspection as well as all maintenance invoices.
You sometimes hear people say: 'My mind says this, but my feelings say that.' How nice it is to be able to say that feeling and reason can rarely agree so wholeheartedly when it comes to a Porsche 993: do it!
