Chassis No. WP0ZZZ99ZAS781385 Introduced in 2010, the 911 GT3 RS was the definitive evolution of the 997-generation GT3 with significant improvements over its 997.1 predecessor. Power increased from 415 to 450 PS through a new 3.8-liter Metzger flat-six engine featuring improved airflow and reduced intake resistance. The car shed 25 kilograms despite its wider body, achieved through extensive use of lightweight materials including a titanium exhaust system, ultra-light single-mass flywheel, polycarbonate rear window, and optional lithium-ion battery. The chassis and aerodynamics were also sharpened, featuring wider front and rear tracks, RS-specific Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), standard dynamic engine mounts, and a larger carbon rear wing and a deeper front lip for serious downforce gains. Inside, the Clubsport package (M003) became standard equipment, bestowing the cockpit with a rear roll-over bar, a six-point racing harness for the driver, lightweight bucket seats (P02), and a fire extinguisher. Despite being over 15 years old, the 997.2-platform remains the ultimate iteration of the GT3 formula for many, and significantly, it represents the final generation of the GT3 RS, along with the RS 4.0, to be offered with a traditional six-speed manual transmission. This particular GT3 RS, chassis number 781385, is an exquisite example of one of the ultimate enthusiasts’ Porsches. Completed at Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen on 1 April 2010, the RS was finished in a Grey Black exterior over a Black leatherette-trimmed Clubsport cabin with lightweight bucket seats. Beautifully specified, chassis 781385 carries the 90-liter tank, front-axle lift, dynamic cornering lights, top-tint windscreen, carbon and extended-carbon interior packs, body-color mirror bases, Sound Package Plus, a remote six-disc changer, and Sport Chrono with a Guards Red timer face. Continuing the Guards Red and exposed carbon theme are numerous desirable “X-Code” options including instrument dials (XFG) rendered in Guards Red, gear and handbrake levers in carbon/Alcantara (XGC/XGD), along with side and center air vents in carbon (XKD/XZB). Additional sought after options include clear taillights (XXG) and code “09971” denoting non-catalog “Custom Tailoring” from Porsche Exclusive. Originally delivered to Switzerland via Porsche Zentrum Zug with the warranty commencing on 7 May 2010, this exceptional Porsche 911 GT3 RS has covered 31,427 kilometers at the time of cataloging. The original service booklet documents a life of fastidious maintenance at German and Belgian Porsche service centers, including stamps in 2011 (5,620 km), 2012 (6,330 km), 2013 (13,625 km), 2014 (14,355 km), 2015 (15,718 km), and most recently in 2020 (25,952 km) which included a drive belt replacement. One of the last truly analog 911 GT3 RS models—offered exclusively with a six-speed manual—this exquisitely optioned 997.2 GT3 RS Clubsport is among the all-time great iterations of a landmark sports car, and an opportunity not to be missed.
