Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 touring
RS stands for Rennsport in German, which means "racing sport." The Carrera name was reintroduced in honor of the 356 Carrera, which itself was named after Porsche's class victories at the Carrera Panamericana races in Mexico in the 50s. The RS was developed to meet motorsport homologation requirements. Compared to a standard 911S, the Carrera 2.7 RS featured a larger engine (2687 cc) with 210 hp (154 kW; 207 PS) and mechanical fuel injection from Bosch (Kugelfischer), a revised and stiffer suspension, a "ducktail" rear spoiler, larger brakes, wider rear wheels and fenders, and the ability to fit 185/70VR15 and 215/60VR15 tires front and rear. In the RS Touring version it weighed 1075 kg (2370 lb), in the Sport Lightweight version it was approximately 100 kg (220 lb) lighter, thanks to the use of thinner steel for the body panels and thinner glass. A total of 1580 examples were built and they qualified for the FIA Group 4 class. Forty-nine Carrera RSRs were built, featuring a 49 cc (2808-liter) engine developing 2,8 PS (300 kW; 221 hp).

This Porsche presented here is a recreation of the real RS. It has a 3.0L engine producing 203 hp and originates from the 1978 SC. It is built on the lightweight body of an F-Type. It also features a roll cage, and the exterior is identical to an RS, including the ducktail and the red Fuchs wheels with red lettering on the sides. A beautiful Carrara RS that, at first glance, is indistinguishable from the real thing. A comprehensive folder with invoices and history is also included.
