As the final air-cooled iteration of the 911, the 993 is widely regarded as the most developed and polished expression of Porsche's all-time classic. Building on the advanced all-wheel-drive technology first introduced in the Porsche 959 supercar, the 993-generation Carrera 4 brought supercar-bred traction to Porsche's rear-engined sports car. By 1995, this system had been refined into a lighter, simpler, and more reliable design that enhanced the 911's traditional driving dynamics without sacrificing its engaging character.

Finished in the era-defining, 1990s shade of Turquoise Metallic-offered for just a single year-this German-market Carrera 4 Coupe completed production at the Porsche factory in December 1995. Along with the exquisite exterior color selection, the interior was specified in Classic Grey, which carries a slight violaceous hue when compared to Marble Grey. Perhaps most important to Porsche aficionados today is the choice of its Getrag six-speed manual transmission, with this example equipped with the highly engaging G64/21 close-ratio version only found on Rest of World (RoW) 911s. Equally significant are the optional extras in the form of heated hard back sport seats, 17-inch five-spoke Cup wheels, electric sunroof, and rear window wiper.

According to its service book, the original owner chose to accept delivery of their Turquoise Metallic Carrera 4 with pomp and circumstance at Porsche's Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen factory in January 1996. Its original Garantie & Wartung service book features numerous stamps, with service only conducted at the factory in Zuffenhausen, from its time in Germany from new until February 2001. A copy of its German Fahrzeugbrief records a move to France by 2002.

Over 70 pages of inspection sheets and parts and service invoices from its time in France chart the history of this well-maintained example. At 154,840 kilometers the 3.6-liter air-cooled flat-six underwent a major engine-out service that included rod bearings, a valve job with new valve springs and guides, a new timing chain and clutch kit among other items. In July 2024, the Carrera 4 received a thorough service from 45-Autosport that included an oil change, brake service, a new steering rack, and four-wheel alignment.

In 2025, the car was acquired by the consignor, a well-known buyer of intriguing German automobiles. The consignor subsequently embarked on a grand continental tour with the Carrera 4, visiting vineyards in France, winding mountain roads in Switzerland, and charming villages in Italy, before preparing the car for shipment to the U.S. The car performed without issue in Europe, with its all-wheel-drive system delivering surefooted grip in any weather and its heated sports seats providing exceptional all-day comfort.

Shortly after its arrival in the United States, the Carrera 4 was delivered to Porsche North Houston for a Classic Technical Certificate (CTC) technical evaluation. At the time of cataloging, this Carrera 4 is offered with 189,400 km (approximately 117,700 mi) along with its service records, books, two switchblade-style remote keys, toolkit, jack, and the aforementioned CTC. With the thrilling combination of the rarely seen shade of Turquoise Metallic, a close-ratio six-speed manual, heated hardback sport seats, and decades of documentation this Carrera 4 stands as one of the most compelling examples on offer stateside today, delivering a unique blend of air-cooled analog character with the 911's signature 1990s aesthetic.
