Chassis No. 91A0143487
Introduced for the 1980 model year, the Porsche 911 SC Weissach Edition is a highly distinctive, one-year-only evolution of the G-Series 911, produced exclusively for the U.S. market. Created to honor Porsche's engineering and motorsport achievements at the Weissach development center, this edition also showcased the growing capabilities of the marque's Sonderwunsch (Special Wishes) program. Only 408 examples were produced, all finished in either Black Metallic or Platinum Metallic. Each Weissach Edition was trimmed with a Doric Grey leather interior with burgundy piping and fitted with Recaro sport seats. Additional highlights include Carrera 3.0-derived front and rear spoilers, upgraded Bilstein dampers, and 15-inch Platinum Metallic Fuchs forged wheels.
This Platinum Metallic finished Weissach Edition was delivered new by Novak Porsche Audi of Omaha, Nebraska, on 29 October 1980, as noted in its Warranty & Maintenance booklet. The 911 then went to Wisconsin with its second owner in Aprill 1990 showing just 7,356 miles, as reported by the current owner. From there, it was brought to California, where it entered the collection of its current long-term owner in February 2013 with just 28,480 miles.
Displaying just over 33,000 original miles at cataloging, this Weissach Edition remains exceptionally well preserved and highly original today. As one of just 408 examples produced and presented in its distinctive Platinum Metallic specification, it stands as a compelling synthesis of rarity, exceptional condition, and remarkably low mileage. This combination has continued to make this Weissach Edition one of the most desirable and collectible variants of the Porsche 911 SC.
