  • Attractive colour combination
  • Good servicing and maintenance history
  • Book pack with service record on file

First registered on 19th October 1989, this Porsche 944 S2 is presented in what we believe to be Baltic Blue Metallic, complemented by a cream leather interior — a particularly attractive and period-correct colour combination for the S2.

This example is the desirable convertible variant that still benefits from factory air conditioning and leather trim, despite being open to the elements. However, the car does show signs of general wear consistent with its age. The bodywork is described by the vendor as ‘average’, and the hood has seen better days and at least likely to require refurbishment or replacement. Prospective buyers are encouraged to view the car in person or review the photographs provided. It could be a worthy small project and a 944 to improve.

The car had previously been in long-term ownership between 2003 and 2023, just shy of 20 years, and remains a largely original example that appears to have been well enjoyed rather than heavily modified. It currently runs and drives, although it will require some recommissioning work, as the engine is not running well — likely due to a period of storage.

We understand a previous owner was a member of the Porsche Enthusiast Club, and the car is accompanied by a comprehensive history file containing invoices and old tax discs. Also included is the original book pack, service book, and previous bill of sale. The service book records 12 stamps between 1989 and 2003 from a mixture of main dealers and reputable specialists. So, it has seen some care and maintenance over the years. Notably, the timing belt was replaced in 2000 (along with the cam chain and tensioner pad) and again in 2023. Additional maintenance over the years includes replacement of the offside wishbone in 2008, a new gasket in 2007, brake discs and pads in 2006, and undersealing carried out in 2004.
