GENERAL INFORMATION:

The 996 Turbo holds an important place in Porsche history. It was the first water-cooled production version of the 911 Turbo and was equipped with a 420 hp twin-turbo engine, enabling a top speed of over 300 km/h. At the same time, the car retained the traditional high-performance character of the Porsche 911 Turbo.

TECHNICAL & MECHANICAL CONDITION:

This Porsche 911 996 Turbo is powered by the famous 3.6-liter twin-turbo Mezger six-cylinder boxer engine with 420 hp, combined with the sought-after 6-speed manual transmission and Porsche's permanent all-wheel drive. The so-called Mezger block is considered one of the most prized Porsche engines of the modern era. Its design is derived from Porsche's motorsport engines and differs fundamentally from the naturally aspirated M96 engines used in the regular 996 Carrera models. The Turbo engine features a different crankcase construction and does not use the same IMS bearing construction often associated with the naturally aspirated 996. The Mezger engine was developed with high performance and motorsport use in mind. The block is known for its robust construction, dry-sump lubrication, and its ability to handle high power outputs. Closely related versions of this engine were also used in the Porsche 996 GT3 and within Porsche's racing programs. In the 996 Turbo, the 3.6-liter Mezger engine is equipped with two turbochargers and intercoolers, delivering 420 hp and 560 Nm of torque. Combined with the 6-speed manual transmission and all-wheel drive, this ensures very strong performance, while the car simultaneously remains perfectly suited for normal road use and longer journeys. The car is also equipped with Porsche Stability Management (PSM), power steering, and electronic throttle control.

With a mileage of 185,005 kilometers, this example combines one of Porsche's most acclaimed engine designs with the sought-after manual gearbox and four-wheel drive.

EXTERIOR & BODY:

The car is finished in Seal Grey Metallic, a particularly attractive and timeless color on the wide body of the 996 Turbo. From the factory, the car was equipped with the sought-after 18-inch Turbo II wheels, often referred to as Turbo Twist wheels. The wheels are painted in the same color as the car, giving the Turbo a distinctive appearance. Exterior equipment includes Xenon headlights with headlight cleaning, front fog lights, an electric sunroof, and a rear wiper. The exterior mirrors are electrically adjustable and heated, with the driver's side featuring an aspherical mirror. The Turbo-specific bodywork includes wider rear fenders, large front air intakes, side air intakes, and the characteristic automatically extending rear spoiler. Additionally, the car is equipped from the factory with stainless steel door sill plates with Turbo lettering (option X70).

INTERIOR:

The interior is finished in black leather and is in a neat and largely original configuration. Both the driver's and passenger's seats are electrically adjustable comfort seats. The front seats are finished in leather, and the rear seats are also upholstered in leather. Additionally, the car is equipped with a split-folding rear seat. The driver has a three-spoke airbag steering wheel, an on-board computer, and controls for the original infotainment and navigation system. Further comfort features include air conditioning, electric windows, illuminated vanity mirrors, and a center console. Safety equipment includes airbags for the driver and passenger, side airbags, an anti-theft system, an alarm siren, and a tilt sensor.

DOCUMENTATION:

This 2001 Porsche 996 Turbo was originally delivered new in Belgium and is currently supplied with Belgian registration papers. The car has a mileage of 185,005 kilometers. The original booklets are present, including the stamped service book. Additionally, the car comes with an extensive documentation folder.
